The 2012 Pickathon Music Festival will take place on Friday, August 3 through Sunday, August 5, returning to the beautiful Pendarvis Farm near Portland, Oregon for its 14th year. The experience at Pickathon is unique; nowhere else can festivalgoers witness such a diverse mix of world-class artists set in what is commonly considered the most innovative and comfortable festival experience in the world. The three-day event continually breaks new ground in sustainability and strives to accommodate attendees and performers as though they were family. Simply put, Pickathon is the festival for people who don’t like the hassle of festivals!

World-Class Music:

Pickathon is a music-lover's paradise, featuring a well-curated 50-band bill where every artist plays at least twice. The festival provides what can only be described as a retreat for performers, with six inspired performance spaces spread throughout the 80 wooded acres of Pendarvis Farm. Past performers include amazing legends and veterans such as Mavis Staples, Will Oldham, Michael Hurley, Bill Callahan, The Heartless Bastards, Iris Dement, and Freakwater, as well as rising contemporaries like The Avett Brothers, Dr. Dog, Justin Townes Earle, Black Mountain, Frank Fairfield, and more. And just wait until you see what they have in store for this year!

Groundbreaking Sustainability:

In a move unprecedented by any festival anywhere, Pickathon has become the first large-scale event in the United States (the world?) to implement a No Single-Use Philosophy! What does this mean? It means the festival has worked towards eliminating all single-use cups, bottles, dishware, and utensils. See more details of how Pickathon pulled off this amazing advancement in event mentality and execution here.

Unmatched Culinary Experience:

A mere 15 minutes from Portland, Oregon, Pickathon recreates the passionate food culture that is unique to the Pacific Northwest region. Food carts, local brewers and vintners, and great coffee will be on hand all weekend long, while menus will be curated by some of the area’s most exciting culinary talents.

Idyllic Festival Grounds:

Tucked away on 80 gorgeous acres of wooded Oregon landscape, Pickathon presents attendees with a perfect festival experience. With ample grounds for camping and miles of terrain for hiking, the festival provides more than enough room to accommodate the 5,500 daily attendees without ever feeling crowded. The six performance spaces spread throughout Pendarvis Farm provide distinctive and stylized environments to take in the music and atmosphere; including the beautiful tension-fabric structure that covers the Mountain View and Fir Meadow Stages, which ranks as one of the largest temporary installations of its kind in the world. Additionally, Pickathon boasts one of the most family-friendly environments of any festival.
