GERSHWIN CONCERTO FEATURING JEFFREY KAHANE

Father Jeffrey and son Gabriel team up for an evening that crosses boundaries and defies conventions. Jeffrey Kahane, former Colorado Symphony Music Director, leads the orchestra in Leonard Bernstein’s Fancy Free before joining with his son, Brooklyn-based composer and musician Gabriel Kahane, in Kahane’s Crane Palimpsest. The program finishes as Jeffery Kahane takes to the piano for Gershwin’s ragtime-tinged Concerto in F, ensuring an enchanting evening for all.

A SYMPHONIC TRIBUTE TO COMIC CON V3.0

BAM! POW! CRASH! Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the concert hall, your Colorado Symphony returns with the third annual edition of A Symphonic Tribute To Comic Con upgraded to v3.0! Our celebration of all things Pop Culture will beam up some favorites, like the themes to "Doctor Who" and How to Train Your Dragon. You'll sense a disturbance in the Force as we debut music from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Hometown hero, Austin Wintory, returns once again to present excerpts from Assassin's Creed Syndicate and "The Gold Standard", a tribute to composer Jerry Goldsmith. With no other show that can contain it, we'll also have Christopher Tin's Epic Orchestral cover of Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood'

David Bowie was a legendary musician and artist with a career that defined not only an era, but gave birth to an entire new genre of sound. This chameleon of charisma's passing is a devastating blow to the entertainment world, but like any great artist he will live on in his groundbreaking, genre-blending work. Bowie understood the power of collaboration and raised the practice to a fine art. This concert collaboration brings the best of Bowie's expansive catalog including favorites like "Space Oddity," "Changes," "China Girl," and more, live on stage to honor over five decades of pushing boundaries of music, fashion, and culture.

DeVotchKa returns with their lush orchestrations combined with the rich, expansive sounds of the Colorado Symphony in a stunning evening at the world's premier outdoor amphitheatre. JUST ANNOUNCED: Grammy Award winning, Ozomatli, join DeVotchKa to open the evening at Colorado's most famous outdoor venue, Red Rocks Amphitheatre! Ozomatli have gone from being hometown heroes to being named U.S. State Department Cultural Ambassadors. Their music – an urban Latino-and beyond collision of hip hop and salsa, dancehall and cumbia, samba and funk, merengue and comparsa, East LA R&B and New Orleans second line, Jamaican ragga and Indian raga – has long followed a key mantra: it will take you around the world by taking you around L.A.

Comedian and Coloradan, Josh Blue opens the evening to fill you with raucous laughter. It’s a double billing of out-of-this stratosphere musicianship as two renowned Grammy® winners, jazz trumpeter Chris Botti and violinist Joshua Bell, join forces on tour including a special stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Botti and Bell, both leaders in their respective fields of jazz and classical, share much in common. In addition to performances at the White House and on the Grammy® Awards telecasts, both artists are Grammy® winners, have topped the Billboard Charts, and have sold countless records. Join us for an unforgettable evening with these two superstars!

JERRY GARCIA SYMPHONIC CELEBRATION FEATURING WARREN HAYNES WITH THE COLORADO SYMPHONY - 8/1/16 - RED ROCKS

This ground-breaking orchestral program - curated by the Garcia Family - features Garcia’s original compositions, as well as classic interpretations of his timeless standards that were hallmarks of Garcia and the Grateful Dead’s shows. Collaborating with a full symphony orchestra, renowned vocalist/guitarist Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, The Dead) lends his soul-soaked, introspective blend of rock, blues, R&B and jazz to Garcia’s masterworks.

LIGHT UP WITH STYX AND THE COLORADO SYMPHONY

For over two decades Styx has performed thousands of concerts across the world for fans inspired by hits like “Come Sail Away”, “Miss America”, and “Blue Collar Man”. This collaboration will blend the hard-driving music of Styx with the orchestral depth of symphony for a memorable concert like no other this season.

Motown icon and Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame legend, Smokey Robinson brings his impeccable charisma and singer/songwriter talent to Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre with your Colorado Symphony this Labor Day weekend! September 3, prepare for a one-of-a-kind evening highlighting Robinson’s career, spanning more than four decades. With more than 4,000 songs to his credit including: “The Tracks of My Tears,” “I Second that Emotion,” and “You Really Got a Hold on Me”, this concert will be a surefire thriller full of showstopping music.
