Elephant Revival Launches Pledge Music Campaign and Summer Tour

Since they first became a unit, the members of Elephant Revival have built a community of fans who love their eclectic acoustic music and the experience of sharing it together. With each performance, new fans join the Elephant Tribe — and become friends.

And now, in the spirit of community and independence, the quintet are turning to those friends to support their latest endeavor: the release of a full-length album they recorded at Bear Creek Studios in Seattle. Using the crowd-sourced funding site pledgemusic.com, they’re offering a variety of very special incentives to raise the amount needed for the album’s fall release.

Premiums range from signed albums to a private house concert. Pledge incentives also include a handwritten book of the album’s lyrics, a song written by Daniel Rodriguez, a lullaby recorded by Bonnie Paine, music and snowboarding lessons, one of Paine’s antique washboards (worn through, of course) and guest-list inclusion on all regular 2014 shows. Funds raised will cover manufacturing, distribution, publicity and promotion.

“We are excited to share this music with you,” the band says; they will do just that during a summer tour kicking off May 24 at DelFest in Cumberland, Md. Stops include Colorado’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Canada’s Vancouver Island MusicFest and Vancouver Folk Music Festival and Arkansas’ Fayetteville Roots Festival. On July 24, they’ll share a Denver Botanic Gardens bill with the Carolina Chocolate Drops; Aug. 6, they’ll perform with a 25-piece orchestra at the Colorado Music Festival in Boulder. For updates and ticket information, visit elephantrevival.com.

Elephant Revival are: Bonnie Paine (vocals, washboard, djembe and musical saw); Sage Cook (electric banjo/guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, viola and vocals); Dango Rose (double-bass, mandolin, banjo and vocals); Daniel Rodriguez (acoustic guitar, electric banjo/guitar and vocals); and Bridget Law (fiddle and vocals).

As they embark on their campaign, Elephant Revival would like to tell every member of the extended tribe: “Thank-you for the beautiful and inspiring support. You rock our world, seriously.”
