"Sometimes you’re hanging with your friends in Mandolin Orange after their show. Sometimes people get a little bored and decide to throw the Frisbee around. Sometimes tragedy strikes but there is a drunkenly happy ending. Sometimes you write a song about it.

This video is from a release show for my album Lucky Ones that was filmed at the Oberon Theater in Cambridge, MA. "Incident At The Border" has been a fan favorite since I first sang it at the historic Club Passim, situated directly across the alley from the Harvard Square institution: The Border Café. The Oberon show featured the full twelve-piece band from the record, including Isa Burke (Lula Wiles) on electric guitar, Zachariah Hickman (Josh Ritter) on bass, Canadian folk icon Rose Cousins, and the aliens in space vocals of Lauren Balthrop.

(P.S. The sound man forgot to unmute the string section when I first started the song but I was dying to hear their part and told the audience so. That’s why there is such a big reaction when they come in!)"
