HIRIE’s Wandering Soul has impressively debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart and #10 on Billobard Heatseekers Album Chart! Wandering Soul (released on August 19, 2016 on Rootfire Cooperative) is the band’s second studio album and their first release to claim the #1 spot on the Billboard Reggae Chart and #10 on the Heatseekers Album Chart. The album is  also HIRIE’s first release on the forward-thinking U.S. label Rootfire Cooperative. HIRIE, comprises of Hirie, Chris Hampton, Andrew McKee, Andy Flores and Blaine Dillinger, has garnered critical acclaim and earned a dedicated fanbase in a short three years. They exploded onto the reggae scene with the viral hit “Sensi Boy” from their debut album HIRIE and continued the momemtum through touring. In the past three years, HIRIE has gone on to nationally tour with Tribal Seeds, Iration, J Boog, Stick Figure, Collie Buddz – and has supported bands such as Rebelution, Matisyahu, and The Expendables, catapulting  the band onto the mainstage of festivals including California Roots Music and Arts Festival, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, and Reggae on the River among others.

“We are eternally grateful to the fans for their dedication to HIRIE. The album’s top position on the Billboard Reggae Chart solidifies HIRIE’s place in the U.S. reggae scene,” says Seth Herman founder of Rootfire Cooperative, “we are especially proud of the band for the thoughtfulness they put into creating the album and the opportunities they took to to involve their dedicated fans along the way.” Wandering Soul was funded by both a successful Kickstarter campaign along with financial support from the Rootfire Cooperative that allowed the band to create the album of their dreams. They were able to record the vast majority of the instrumentation live, giving the album an organic feel that is palpable. HIRIE states, “The caliber of musicianship on this album surpasses any of our previous recordings. Between the features, arrangements, songwriting and beyond we just took everything to a whole new level.”

The new record has 11 songs and includes special guests Trevor Hall (“Good Vibration”), Nahko Bear (“Renegade”), and Nattali Rize (“Woman Comes First”) to name a few. The album also has a number of notable producers including Danny Kalb (Beck, Ben Harper, Karen O, Foster The People) , Sergio Rios, Don Corleon (Rihanna, Sean Paul, Shaggy) and additional production by Josh Cardinali, Chris Hampton and Andrew McKee.
