Z2 Entertainment is proud to present Victor Wooten Band with Special Guest at the Boulder Theater on Thursday, July 12th, 2012.  Tickets go on sale Friday, April 27th at 10:00am for $23.00 advance & $27.00 the day of the show. Victor has been touring with his own band since 1997 in various forms and formats all over the globe.

Four-time Grammy award-winning musician, performer and teacher Victor Lemonte Wooten has added author and philosopher to his portfolio with the release of his first book The Music Lesson. Using music to teach life's lessons, Victor takes the reader on a journey of learning and discovery. Throughout 2007 and 2008 Victor will be taking "The Music Lesson" on the road via his concerts, workshops, book signings and more.

During The Music Lesson Workshop, Victor will introduce students to a different but natural approach to music. He will explain many of the concepts from his book that can not only be applied to music but also to every day life. Recognizing a gap in standard music instruction, Victor developed a radical approach that looks at music as a language which helps us experience it from “the inside out” rather than “the outside in” -- which is the typical approach of beginning with notes, technique and theory. Victor gets to the heart of music, getting students in touch with their emotions to first feel the music within themselves, thereby facilitating the students’ understanding that they themselves make the music and that the instrument is just a tool. By directing focus on these aspects, a student can sound like a professional musician in a matter of minutes rather than years. Victor teaches that music can be taught much like a first language is taught in the home, by living it first, learning techniques and theory later and by removing much of the attention focused on the instrument itself. This allows the student to have a more natural and enjoyable musical experience. Students come away with not only a different way to approach music, but a way that can also enhance their life.

The Music Lesson Workshop will be available to art centers and other venues in conjunction with a public performance. Tailored to each venue’s specific needs, this workshop can be adjusted for all age groups, from elementary through adult and can vary in length from 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on age level and schedule. The workshop will include lecture as described above, demonstrations, student participation, and ending with a question and answer session. When the situation allows, some students may even have a chance to play with Victor’s band. 2
