Lotus Announces First Leg of 2013 Tour, New Album Coming Soon

Electronic band Lotus announces the first leg of the 2013 national tour, the biggest outing the group has done to date (schedule below). The 5-piece will hit the road in support of the forthcoming album on SCI Fidelity Records. Details on the release will be announced in the coming weeks.

The first part of the trek finds them hitting the Northeast including two New York City shows: Manhattan’s Best Buy Theater and Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory. From there, Lotus heads to the Midwest for shows in Cleveland, Columbus, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and more. Then, it’s time to conquer the South with multiple shows in Texas, Florida and North Carolina and a two night run at Atlanta’s Terminal West. Brooklyn trio Moon Hooch will support on the first leg of the 2013 tour with the exception of the Knitting Factory show, and Keller Williams will share the bill with Lotus in Columbus.

Before 2012 comes to an end, Lotus plays two nights at Chicago’s Riviera Theatre, Mr. Small’s in Millvale, PA and two nights in Baltimore to ring in the New Year.

Lotus played select dates throughout the year in support of their previously released, self-titled album. In September, the group headlined Colorado’s Red Rocks for the first time in front of a crowd of over 7,000 (pictured) and was the first to perform a major show in Philadelphia’s FDR Park since Lollapalooza in 1994. They played in front of capacity crowds in Denver, Chicago, Austin, Athens, Grand Rapids, Richmond, Philadelphia and two nights in DC. Popular on the festival circuit, they also joined the line up at Camp Bisco, CounterPoint, Summer Set, All Good and more including festivals in Holland and Japan.

Lotus is composed of Mike Greenfield (Drums), Jesse Miller (Bass, Sampler), Luke Miller (Guitar, Keys), Mike Rempel (Guitar) and Chuck Morris (Percussion).
