Pickathon Announces 2012 Stage Schedule

Article Contributed by Pitch Perfect PR | Published on Thursday, June 28, 2012

Pickathon, happening August 3rd through the 5th at Pendarvis Farm near Portland, Oregon, is a mere month and change away! As always, the schedule is fully loaded with the spirit and charm that help make Pickathon unique. With six different stages, four unique activity locations, 50+ performers, and three long days - at its core, Pickathon is a weekend of music that within a 72-hour period hosts 100+ hours of scheduled performances in a variety of unique, comfortable, and intimate settings.

Added to the schedule this year is the premiere of a first-time collaboration with Portland Playhouse to present a music-based reinterpretation of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, featuring festival performers Laura Gibson, Casey MacGill, and Bruce Molsky. Actors and musicians will come together the day of the performances and deliver a unique performance each night, with the musicians playing the part of Feste, the play's fool and minstrel.

In addition to the schedules for mom and dad, there are numerous performances, workshops, and activities to help entertain and engage the 13-and-under set.  The usual Pickathon Saturday begins with the annual 'Saturday Morning Kids Show' with returning favorites Cardboard Songsters. Activity highlights include survival skill workshops and demonstrations with Trackers Earth, morning rhythm classes for the kiddos with Music Together, a Kids Showcase with Annalisa Tornfelt, Yoga from 7-9am each morning, and yes, of course, the widely popular weekend-long Pickathon Circus Camps with the return of guerilla circus troupe, Circus Cascadia.

Alongside the announcement of the daily schedules, Pickathon has released a limited quantity of SINGLE DAY PASSES for each day of the festival (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Supplies are extremely limited, so if you are only able to attend for one day, act fast. Single-day, weekend, and parking passes are available here: http://www.pickathon.com/tickets
