On Saturday July 25th, Color Red All-Stars ft. Eddie Roberts and DJ Logic took the stage at Knew Conscious in Denver, Colorado for a limited seating, socially distant show as part of the venue's weekly 'Alive from Knew Conscious' series. The 5+ hour set featured Eddie Roberts on guitar, Chris Spies on keyboards, Nate Edgar on bass, Jeff Franca on drums, and DJ Logic both spinning with the group and performing small sets intermittently. Eric "Benny" Bloom of Lettuce sat in throughout the set.

The Bay Area’s beloved Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is launching its new global and community-driven initiative  Let the Music Play On to bring the spirit of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass to backyards and living rooms all over the world with a global broadcast taking place the weekend of October 2nd.  In compliance with safety concerns and California’s statewide mandate against large public gatherings, the festival will not be taking place in its traditional setting of Golden Gate Park.

Pickathon has always been built for the digital age, with an army of audiovisual specialists, high-tech equipment, and a commitment to film not only every stage and performance, but secret video stages and extra performances each year. When Pickathon realized that the 2020 festival would have to be postponed due to COVID, they pivoted immediately and opened up their extensive vaults of content for a 100+ day fundraiser for MusiCares.

The Drive-In style set up at the ranch was in the same fashion as going to the movies, except this movie theatre had a real PA system. Cars were parked in rows and the social distance tailgating was highly successful. There were limited VIP tables set up in front of the stage for a bit more intimate viewing. Robert Randolph started the show with some of the members and introduced Devon and Duane a few songs in. At that point, the musicians on stage were from five different bands.

The road to Golden Shoals has been a long, fruitful journey for Amy Alvey and Mark Kilianski. The duo has toured on foot—gig to gig with backpacks and instrument cases—for weeks at a time; called Asheville, Boston, California, and New Jersey home; and lived in various moving vehicles on the road for the past seven years under different names and incarnations.

The Rex Foundation and The Jerry Garcia Family have announced that they will bring a cherished tradition to the virtual sphere for the first time with Daze Between. The inaugural livestream will feature nine days of exclusive musical performances and storytelling to celebrate the life and legacy of Jerry Garcia. The event marks 25 years since Garcia's passing and will run from August 1-9, 2020.

Forty-two years after its debut album and 18 years after its most recent studio recording, bayou rock legend Louisiana’s LeRoux is back with a stunning new studio album entitled One of Those Days. From the hard-driving title tune that opens the record to the album’s finale, a rich and vibrant version of the band’s classic ballad “New Orleans Ladies,” One of Those Days displays LeRoux at its best, with memorable songs, soaring harmonies, killer instrumental work, and tight arrangements.

Garrett Owen has released “Hour In The Forest,” the newest single from his forthcoming album Quiet Lives, due out September 18th. The song, inspired by interactions with three different women - one of which sports a tattoo of Harriet Tubman with a machine gun and Joan of Arc with a sword - is one of the more experimental tracks on Quiet Lives.
