MerleFest, presented by Window World and scheduled for April 27-30, 2017, is bringing two bluegrass legends to the 30th celebration – banjo master Béla Fleck and The Earls of Leicester featuring Jerry Douglas, a supergroup homage to Flatt & Scruggs made up of several of bluegrass’s finest musicians. Both will be playing on Saturday.

Summers have become synonymous with outdoor festivals in Colorado over the years. In years past, we have been spoiled with the happenings at Red Rocks Amphitheater and Mishawaka Amphitheater, but within the last 5 years or so, it seems like many of the acts that may sell out these venues can be seen at some of the most fan friendly festivals in the world. Stony Plain Records announces a March 31 release date for Migration Blues, the new album from Blues Music Award-winning singer/songwriter Eric Bibb. The new album showcases Eric Bibb’s talents on vocals, guitars, six-string banjo and contrabass guitar, backed by a group that features Michael Jerome Browne (guitars, vocals, banjos, mandolin and triangle) and JJ Milteau (harmonica). The String Cheese Incident has revealed their full summer tour, highlighted by a three night stand at Red Rocks Amphitheater on July 21-23. In addition to previously announced festival appearances at Mountain Jam, Electric Forest, and LOCKN', SCI will return to the Chastain Park in Atlanta, GA on July 7 & 8. In August, the band will visit the Pacific Northwest for three unique festivals over consecutive weekends at Element Music Festival, Summer Meltdown and Oregon Eclipse.

Montreal-based alt-folk band The Franklin Electric are set to release their highly anticipated sophomore album titled ‘Blue Ceilings’ on 5th May 2017 via Indica Records. ‘Blue Ceilings’ is now available for pre-order and includes new singles ‘I Know The Feeling’ and ‘Walk With You’ as instagrat tracks. The band will be touring Australia and Canada this winter before heading to the UK in Spring to play shows in support of the release, with a first date penciled at Electrowerkz in London on the 19th April 2017.
