The 18th incarnation of the event is taking place at Berry Hill Farm in Summit Point, West Virginia (near Charles Town and Harper’s Ferry, WV). Before even getting into the music, a big shout-out needs to go The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park. It is such a beautiful and well run festival venue. Upon entering the park, you a see dense forest of large trees dripping with moss and many nooks to set up camp. Then when going into the festival grounds you are greeted by some of the kindest staff I have ever encountered at the music festival. Very rarely did you find yourself waiting for the lines for security or bathrooms. The park has lots of experience with festivals and it clearly shows.

AURA Music & Arts Festival has added several new artists to the 2015 lineup including the debut of Break Science Live Band where the synergy and flow of electronic duo Borahm Lee and Adam Deitch will be joined by Lettuce’s Jesus Coomes on bass, Adam Smirnoff on guitar, Ryan Zoidis on sax and Eric Bloom on trumpet.

The United States hosted its first Winter Olympics in 1932. Lake Placid was the site for this first of only four visits the winter games have made to the states. Two of them have been in this cozy little village in the Northeast corner of New York. At the 1932 games, the U.S. Men’s Hockey Team battled a far superior Canadian team for a hard earned silver medal under the extended indoor arch known as the Jack Shea Arena, the first indoor hockey facility used in the Olympics since 1920.

The first press conference of this year’s Harvest Fest opened with Samantha Fish and finished with Yonder Mountain String Band. While I was super excited to see Yonder and learn about everything new for them and the band, I admit that I wasn’t very familiar with the other musicians before this year’s festival.
