Recorded at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, NY, "Lights Out" is the latest single from an all-star cast of musicians. The song showcases the talents of Ari Joshua on guitar (Big High, AriSawkaDoria), Eden Ladin on keys (Gilad Hekselman, Avishai Cohen), John Kimock on drums (Mike Gordon Band, Otiel Burbridge & Friends), and Andy Hess on bass (Gov’t Mule, Black Crowes).

The Ogden Theatre is a 1600 capacity venue in the Capitol Hill district of Denver and although its surroundings leave much to be desired, the place still brings out the magic for those who enter its historic doors. Originally opened in 1917, it got it start as did many theaters of that era as a movie house and a locale for vaudeville performances. Cinema was its main draw for decades until its almost unfortunate end in the early 90’s, when it was slotted to be demolished.

Today, Robert Walter shares "Or Else" and "Franklin" (listen/share), the first two songs from his 'Better Feathers' series, in which the acclaimed keyboardist rolls out six new "digital 45s" via Royal Potato Family. Each release will feature two singles for a total of 12 tracks to be issued from now through October.

Marcus Rezak kicked off his Truth of Sound Tour with a bang at Cafe Wha?, nestled in New York City’s West Village last Sunday, with his band, Shred is Dead. The tour is promoting Rezak’s latest album, Truth of Sound, featuring several members of the Trey Anastasio Band, including the late Tony Markelis. The group collectively delivered inspiring progressive instrumentals and vocals of the Grateful Dead as well as new Truth in Sound tunes.

In normal times, Steve Kimock and Friends (John Morgan Kimock, drums, Jeff Chimenti, keys, and Reed Mathis, bass) would have returned to Mill Valley’s Sweetwater Music Hall this weekend for a three-night residency.

These are not ordinary times—oh, you noticed?—and so Steve & Co. decided to release a mini-EP, Point of No Return.  Here’s what Steve says about the EP.

It’s our sincerest regret to inform everyone that the Voodoo Dead show on October 7th, 2020 has been canceled. Refunds are available at the point of purchase. Tickets purchased online will be refunded automatically.

It was our intention to reschedule the shows for a later date as opposed to canceling but due to the current climate and the uncertainty of when that would be, we made the difficult decision to cancel.

It's the intention to have Voodoo Dead back in CO as soon as possible. Stay tuned for updates.

Steve Kimock brought his famed Voodoo Dead experience to the Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, PA on Feb 5, 2020.  Kimock was joined by legendary New Orleans bassist George Porter, Jr.

Steve Kimock and Friends wrapped up their mini-tour of the Northeast Saturday night to a sold-out Ardmore Music Hall just outside Philadelphia.  The night was started by Hayley Jane (Hayley Jane and the Primates) performing a solo acoustic set as the crowd worked their way in off the streets.  By the time her set was halfway through the crowd had largely filled the 600-person venue and were often delight

Steve Kimock and his adept friends delighted NYC with an early Friday night performance in the West Village at Le Poisson Rouge, featuring plenty of his signature guitar brilliance. Fresh off the release of new track “While We Wait,” Kimock is currently wrapping up a short, but sweet east coast fall tour. Tonight’s show included a memorial dedication for the recently departed Robert Hunter, and a special birthday shout out for one of the band members.

What is fair to say and what is hyperbole? Is it overstating things to say the Grateful Dead have become so much more than just their music? They define pieces of us. Times with friends. Discovery. They have become an institution reaching further than just recordings of their shows. But no matter what, for all of us, it still starts there; with the music. The music was and is a driving force in us. But since it has ended, and it has ended, what we are left with are new branches growing from roots sewn in the 60’s.
