One of the biggest new-music buzzes of the June 2017 edition of the Monterey International Pop Festival was a pioneering performance by Jamtown, a burgeoning venture from three separately renowned musicians – Cisco Adler (from Malibu), G. Love (from Philadelphia), and Donavon Frankenreiter (from Hawaii). Cisco also happens to be the son of Lou Adler, who helped produce the original Monterey Pop in 1967 and was on-site in 2017 as well.

Imagine a world where every person is temporarily transported to outer space for the sole purpose of looking back on earth to experience its sheer beauty. For a brief moment, we could all escape the greatest atrocities of our time and take in an outer-world perspective to see all of humanity living in harmonious coexistence.

Join us, won't you, as we celebrate what would have been Jerry's 75th birthday with the music and magic of the Grateful Dead on the silver screen. A special one-night-only cinema event, the 7th-annual Meet-Up At The Movies features the previously unreleased July 12, 1989 RFK Stadium concert. Spoiler alert: the rare first set contains at least one song sung by each of the four lead singers, not to mention a terrific show-opening rendition of "Touch Of Grey." And the second set?

A pair of D'Angelico guitars will be auctioned at this weekend's Dead & Company concerts in Chicago, potentially generating tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities chosen by the band.

A true floating Americana Music Festival, the 11th edition of Cayamo: A Journey Through Song, brings together 2,200 music lovers and the who’s who amongst singer-songwriters for seven full days of inspiring music, camaraderie and Caribbean vibes sailing February 4-11, 2018 aboard Norwegian Pearl from New Orleans to Cozumel, Mexico and Harvest Caye, Belize.

Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks's Wheels of Soul Summer Tour is heading out across America July 1st with longtime friends and collaborators Electric Hot Tuna (Jorma Kaukonen, Jack Casady and drummer Justin Guip) and masters of soulful folk, The Wood Brothers. The Tedeschi Trucks Band, a 12-piece ensemble led by the husband and wife master musicians, is scheduled to bring the show to many of the country’s premier outdoor venues on the most ambitious Wheels of Soul tour to date July 1 through August 2, 2017.

The contradictions in John Butler are evident, and, despite his magnificently successful career (with number one albums in Australia and sell-out tours) his is a troubled soul. One of the most successful recording artists Australia has ever produced and a musician whose reputation has begun to rock the waters of both Europe and America, Butler is nevertheless a man on the edge, poised like a beautiful suicide. Where will he go next? Up or down?

It’s peculiar to think about, but the album, as we know, it is dying off. The single already takes precedent, for those bands that are looking to reach the widest number of listens on the pop charts. The major upside to the current state of the music business is that the live concert experience has taken precedent as the best way to make it as a musician. One of the most admirable acts out there right now, gaining the adoration of loyal fans while releasing quality albums, is progressive grass sextet the Infamous Stringdusters.
