As many knows, April 20 or “420" is considered a sort of national holiday in cannabis culture. While there are many stories about the origins of the phrase, one of the most widely circulated stories involves five high school students.

The Festy Experience is excited to announce the second round of its music lineup for the 8th annual festival, happening October 5-8, 2017 in the Blue Ridge Bowl at Infinity Downs Farm in Arrington, Virginia. The lineup comprises a carefully curated blend of national and local roots music acts and additions include Ani DiFranco, Elephant Revival, Beats Antique, Joan Osborne, Sierra Hull, EmiSunshine, Della Mae, Shook Twins, Sarah Siskind & Sunliner, Phoebe Hunt, Maggie Koerner, Dori Freeman, Erin Lunsford, and Tara Mills.

Mining the same rich vein as ’90s alt-country favorites like Freakwater and Whiskeytown, the Good Graces unspool delicate, warbling indie-folk and jangling roots pop. The project originated in 2007 but really started gaining momentum when it was handpicked by the Indigo Girls to open their 2015 summer tour.

The quartet coming in hot this year is Spafford, and today they announce their Fall 2017 national headline tour dates. 34 of them, to be exact. Stops on the upcoming tour include, two nights at Asheville Music Hall in Asheville, NC, two nights in Denver, CO — including a special VIP-only performance — their first headline play at Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY and an appearance at Suwanee Hulaween in Live Oak, FL. Ekoostik hookah founding member and vocalist John Mullins passed away unexpectedly yesterday.  Mullins, along with keyboardist Dave Katz formed the core of the pioneering Ohio jamband after a chance meeting in a little bar in Columbus, Ohio in early 1991.
