THE MAGPIE SALUTE partnered yesterday (1/5/17) with Yahoo! Music to premiere their performance video of "Comin' Home" that begins with a tribute to the late keyboardist Eddie Harsch who passed away November 4, 2016. Eddie was set to perform with the band during their upcoming four night, sold-out engagement later this month at the Gramercy in New York (January 19, 20, 21, 22).

The Red Hot Chili Peppers kick off their 2017 North American tour tonight at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX.  The 51-city trek in support of their latest album, The Getaway, which was released by Warner Bros. Records on June 17, 2016, includes sold out three-night stands at Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The Multi-Grammy Award winning troubadour Rodney Crowell is set to release Close Ties on March 31st via New West Records.  The 10-song set is his first album in over three years and follows The Traveling Kind, his acclaimed collection of duets with longtime collaborator Emmylou Harris.   Co-produced by Jordan Lehning and Kim Buie, the album features a duet with Sheryl Crow on the haunting “I’m Tied To Ya,” and “It Ain’t Over Yet,” a vocal collaboration with his ex-wife Rosanne Cash and John Paul White.

Austin-based Americana band The Traveling Ones delivers stirring harmony and sentimental blues-rock in its debut album, Meet Me There. For release February 3, 2017, the all-original studio project is a collaborative effort from two shining stars who – more than capable as separate artists – come together to create something truly special.

At 91 years old, legendary Guitar Master, Bucky Pizzarelli continues to make great music. 

His protégé, Ed Laub (guitar and vocals) will once again join him to celebrate Bucky’s Birthday Bash 2017. These two guitar virtuosos will not be alone in this year’s celebration. 

Bucky’s son, Martin Pizzarelli will return on bass. Konrad Paskudzki (piano) will take the seat behind our concert grand.

Released in 1977, Elegant Gypsy was the follow-up album to Al Di Meola’s debut release.  The distinctive music on the album is a fusion of jazz and rock, with Di Meola’s lightning-fast guitar riffs intermixed with lyrical acoustical passages.  The album was named Best Guitar Album in Guitar Player magazine and is generally regarded as a masterpiece in the rock-jazz fusion music genre.
