David Crosby is set to release his new solo work 'Lighthouse' for October 21st. Michael League of Snarky Puppy is Crosby's producer.

Posted on his web site Crosby declares that he has a newfound passion to create fresh, original music. “I’m tilted towards pushing the envelope,” he says. “I’m tilted towards making new stuff. I think I’m supposed to.” 'Lighthouse' is a collection of stripped-down, delicate and introspective songs that showcases David complex guitar work and is enhanced by his layered harmony vocals.

Wilco fans can have an early listen to the band’s forthcoming album Schmilco on Tuesday, Sept. 6, three days before the album’s official worldwide release Sept. 9. But it won’t be via an early online stream; instead, the Chicago band is showing its support for independent record stores — and the vinyl format in general — by encouraging fans to attend I Heard Schmilco listening parties at locations across the US and Canada.

Outside Lands is in its 9th year but you wouldn’t know to look at it. In some ways it feels like a brand new festival, while in others it’s clear that it’s far from amateur. The smooth operations, from getting fans through the gate without much wait to having eco-friendly workers to help navigate which bin to put your trash in (compost, recycling, or landfill), are just a few pieces of proof that Outside Lands really has their shit together.

A quintet of renowned Northern California jammy groups – Jackie Greene Band, Steve Kimock & Friends, David Nelson Band, The Mother Hips, and Moonalice – provided a nine-hour supersonic background on August 6 for a couple thousand bohemian yet genteel attendees at the 2016 incarnation of the Petaluma Music Festival. The proceedings had all of the markings and vibes of a big family gathering, which played out at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds amid beaming sunshine and comfortable temperatures that never rose above 75.

On Wednesday, August 17th, at The Fillmore in San Francisco, The Rex Foundation and SF Giants starting pitcher’s Jake Peavy Foundation will co-host a charitable event that has been dubbed “Can’t Stop The Train,” a Tribute to the music of Jerry Garcia.

Wendy Burch Steel and Redwood play a unique cross-section of genres incorporating all the good and sweet aspects of bluegrass, folk, old-time, country bluegrass and blues. The Avett Brothers have been making their way across the nation on tour for their ninth studio album, True Sadness, and will soon be stopping at Sonoma State University to perform under the stars.  The band will take the stage at the University’s Weill Hall + Lawn at the Green Music Center on Thursday September 15th at 7:30pm, as part of the Summer 2016 MasterCard Performance Series.
