Ever-popular rock poster artist Jim Pollock has designed a limited-edition postcard that the non-profit organization HeadCount will distribute at Phish concerts this summer.To receive a free postcard, fans just need to stop by the HeadCount table and sign a “Pledge to Vote” on the back.

With music festivals popping up in seemingly every open field these days, it takes a lot to stand out—and even more to endure failure. Somehow, Pemberton Music Festival is doing both of those things this year. After a disastrous debut in 2008, Pemberton Festival weathered a few false starts before landing in the capable hands of Huka Entertainment, who have had a heavy hand in festival successes of recent years, including the burgeoning Hangout Festival.

The third weekend of August will once again mark the arrival of YarmonyGrass at Rancho Del Rio on the banks of the Colorado River.

On August 1, 1973 The Band opened for Grateful Dead on Jerry Garcia’s 31st birthday, making for one of the most memorable nights in American rock & roll history. On Friday, August 1 of this year, forty-one years later, Dark Star Orchestra and The Band tribute act, The Weight will be recreating this entire show for “A Very Jerry Birthday Jam” at Heritage Amphitheater at Pocahontas State Park.

A couple of the Spoonfed guys are doing their vacation and we had the weekend off so we thought we’d come up and be a part of the magical festival here.GW: Have you guys ever been to this festival?Matt: Oh year. This is our 5th or 6th year – we’ve played here almost every year since they moved it up to the mountain. Last night we sat in with Wookiefoot and Nahko.
