Dumpstaphunk

Dumpstaphunk's Post-Phish NYE jam with the Jennifer Hartswick Band has been canceled at Stage 48 (promoter change at the venue)... on the flip side they'll be with their friends and family in The Funky Meters at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY instead!

New Year's Eve with Phish at Madison Square Garden has become it's own cult holiday in the Big Apple, as are the notorious after-parties. The jamband bliss will rage long after the ball has dropped this year, when Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk and the Jennifer Hartswick Band host a post-Phish afterparty just a few blocks up from MSG at Stage 48.

No strangers to the pain of a hurricane strike, New Orleans' all-star funk ensemble Dumpstaphunk will bring some much needed smiles and never before seen collaborations to New York City tonight Nov. 5 at the Highline Ballroom.

Electric Forest is a place where you can be anything you want to be.  I wanted to be Ben Franklin so I built myself a big ol Kite like totem and trotted off into the old Rothbury woods for four days and nights of frivolity, fantasy, and purple lasers majesty.

The HeadCount Participation Party in association with Magic Hat is a celebration of democracy as the presidential election approaches, and will kick off its 3rd election season tour with headliners Anders Osborne and Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk plus surprise guests to be announced.  Produced by NYC-based promoters CEG Presents & Nolafunk in association with the Blue Note Entertainment Group, the tour will hit Baltimore (11/2), Philadelphia (11/3) and Washington, DC (11/4); culminating on November 5th, with the official Participation Party in New York City at the Highline Ballroom

Dumpstaphunk treated the Highline Ballroom to a surprise double-dose of funk royalty last Wednesday, June 6 as the legendary "Queen of Funk" - Chaka Khan - shared the stage with Ivan Neville's all star New Orleans funk ensemble for the pair's first ever live collaboration. The private performance was for book distributor Publishers Group West (PGW)‘s annual BookExpo America party, which opened the night with a set from Brooklyn funk favorites, the Pimps of Joytime.

The Bear Creek music festival at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park was a fun filled sensual delight from the tingling chill of a Friday night freeze, the warmth of the campfire, fuzzy bear costumes all around, campfire smoke whimsically dancing through the air, laser light spectacles such as green naked lady outlines surfing through the trees, and did I mention the music? Destination Funkytown. Houston, we have landed. Bear Creek kept us movn and  groonvn all night long.

Hancock, NY is a quaint town in the Catskills with little other than a bank, a couple bars, and a small grocery store. It’s home to a splendid property called Camp Minglewood, where kids run around barefoot all summer, go from arts and crafts to swimming to kickball and back to their tiny bunks. Then, the music takes over.

After much coordination and navigation, our group celebrated the successful creation of a small tent/popup, tapestry and solar light embellished village by partaking in a few ice cold libations before heading toward the music. As we walked in the dark down the windy dirt road in the direction of deep rooted bass and canopy swinging melodies, a myriad of bioluminescent extensions of the forest helped to light our way.
