Keith Carlock

After their 2020 world tour.  KCL, the iconic, genre-bending powerhouse trio featuring guitarist Wayne Krantz, drummer Keith Carlock and bassist Tim Lefebvre is returning with a string of dates to kick off their “Golden Days” 2022  tour, starting in New York City on Feb 18 at The Bitter End.  Cutting live recordings from the club and posting them online in the early days of the internet and touring

New York-based bandleader and genre-defying guitarist Wayne Krantz is keeping busier than ever entering the 2020s. Many are familiar with Krantz’s work as a powerhouse ace sideman for decades alongside legends such as Bill Frisell, Billy Cobham, Steely Dan, and Michael Brecker, but it’s as bandleader where Krantz’s inimitable approach is best felt. Known for his improvisational approach that feels like metal at times and Slowhand blues at others, Krantz released his very first non-improvisational work in January on Abstract Logix.

Wayne Krantz is one of those guys you probably know even if you don’t know. Gigging professionally as a collaborative musician since the mid-eighties, he’s worked time and again with jazz rock giants like Steely Dan, Michael Brecker, Chris Potter and Billy Cobham. Suffice to say, when Krantz does a multiple night run at a staple hang like Iridium Jazz Club in Manhattan, people will flock without question to see him perform.

Forget fusion, forget jamband; forget jazz, rock or funk, downtown or alternative; KCL lights it up - then leaves it on the playground for high-wire improvisation of the most shocking, grooving, dangerous, spontaneously composed kind.
