Today, Rhett Miller released “Heart Attack Days,” the new single from This Misfit, his first solo album in four years out this Friday via ATO Records. Miller also announced a string of solo tour dates in celebration of the new album that will make stops in Texas and the Northeast.

Today, Rhett Miller announced his new album The Misfit with the dreamy and reflective debut single “Follow You Home,” featuring vocals from Cassandra Jenkins and Annie Nero. The album marks his first solo full length album in four years and will be released on September 16 via ATO Records.

For the past ten weeks, the Mighty SONG Writers video series from Philadelphia nonprofit Mighty Writers and media partner Literary Hub has showcased singer-songwriters across genres playing their songs and answering questions about their music.

In this week’s episode of Mighty SONG Writers, Rhett Miller sings songs from the Great American Songbook. Coming off his band Old 97s’ critically-acclaimed new album Twelfth, Miller covers Johnny Cash, Carole King, Otis Redding, and more, breaking down the songs and explaining their history, before ending with an Old 97’s classic.
