Richard Thompson

The legendary Richard Thompson will return with Ship To Shore on May 31, 2024 via New West Records. The 12-song set was produced by Richard Thompson and recorded in Woodstock, NY. Ship To Shore follows his 2018 studio album 13 Rivers and his 2021 memoir Beeswing: Losing My Way and Finding My Voice 1967-1975 which was published by Algonquin Books.

English folk-rock icon Richard Thompson brought seven decades of songwriting genius to an intimate concert at the Lobero Theatre. Many residents already know that the historic theater is the longest continuously operating performance hall in California. But it was also recently confirmed that the theater is also one of the five oldest theaters in the entire country that are still in operation.

Richard Thompson’s 1976 album of (at the time) career-spanning retrospective unreleased recordings – (Guitar, Vocal) A Collection Of Unreleased and Rare Material 1967-1976 – will be reissued on double 180-gram vinyl March 25th via Island/UMe in celebration of its 45th anniversary.

The long-awaited 23rd Rhythm & Roots Music, Dance and Food Festival will resume Sept. 3-5 at Ninigret Park with much-loved headliners, a jam band extravaganza, festival fan favorites and new voices that reflect the always-changing nature of roots music.

Richard Thompson’s The Cold Blue - Original Motion Picture Score will be released on vinyl for the first time for Record Store Day Black Friday (this Friday, November 29th).  The double LP set is available on 180 gram “Sky Blue” Colored Vinyl and strictly limited to 2,500 copies worldwide.

In 2017, Ivor Novello Award-winning and GRAMMY® Award-nominated legend Richard Thompson gave himself up to the music itself. Picking up a guitar, emotions echoed through his deft fleet-fingered fretwork, poetic songwriting, impassioned picking. Those transmissions comprise his nineteenth solo album, 13 Rivers.

“I never really think about what songs mean,” he admits. “I just write them. Some of them reflect on what happened a few months ago or even a year ago. It’s a process of surveying my life and where I was at.”

One of the most distinguished guitarists and songwriters of our time, Richard Thompson remains incredibly inspiring and relevant today. With two box sets to his name, and heaps of critical praise and awards, Thompson was most recently awarded MOJO’s Les Paul Award, and had the distinction of being named the 2010 Artistic Director of the 17th Meltdown fes
