Widespread Panic

It all started in the Haight Ashbury over 50 years ago: from the psychedelic ballroom bands of the late 1960's, the Grateful Dead emerged and went on to have a robust 30-year career with Jerry Garcia and another 24+ years post-Garcia. Rather than sticking with a scripted set list, the band flowed into the unfamiliar territory of improvisational concert celebrations that broke down the boundaries between musician and audience.

For many, the name Jimmy Herring conjures up a multitude of moments that reflect the best in music proficiency.

Widespread Panic announces the ninth edition of their beloved concert vacation, Panic en la Playa, an all-inclusive destination event on the Caribbean coastline. Returning to Riviera Maya, Mexico from January 24 -28, 2020, Panic en la Playa Nueve features four nights of music by Widespread Panic.

Mix Jojo Hermann from Widespread Panic with The Dynamites and what do you get? Slim Wednesday, the day after Fat Tuesda —Southern Psych-Soul. Straight out of a southern soul/rock/funk voodoo cauldron, Slim Wednesday’s debut full-length, "Reptile Show," jumps from jam to deep dish funk to New Orleans piano to troubadour soul to Toussaint-style gut bucket—a new sound of some old sounds that have come around!

To celebrate their 8th year of live rock music in Telluride, The RIDE Festival is once again hosting a variety of new and veteran artists who will each be bringing their own unique brand of high-energy rock and roll to one of the most beautiful music venues on the planet.

Crowds of people flooded into the campgrounds and festival the second day of Lockn’ music festival 2018. By early afternoon a sea of color was visible as far as the eye could see. The event was indeed a multigenerational magnet composed of six decades of jazz, funk, blues and rock jam music. Grandparents dressed in tie-dyed Grateful Dead shirts joined their offspring many in Phish tie-dyes. Whole families brought their children, grandchildren and maybe even a few grandchildren creating a festive carnival-like atmosphere.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is widely considered the premier music venue in America. Widespread Panic holds the record for the most amount of sold-out shows at Red Rocks. Therefore, when Panic comes to town in late June every single summer since 1997 with the exception of 2004, 2009, and 2012, people travel from far and wide and gather to celebrate the music of this magnificent band. On Friday, June 22, the band that draws the most people to this music mecca played here for the 53rd time for their 49th consecutive headlining sell-out. Fans from all over the country fly in for this special occasion, and on this night, they delivered.

Let me start by saying WOW, what a great weekend! I arrived Wanee Music Festival Thursday afternoon to catch Dumpstaphunk. Putting on a great set (as always) and getting everyone's energy up for the weekend. Someone I really enjoyed most (and have never seen before) Phil Lesh. Such a great two sets, both days--out of Phil.

Widespread Panic returning this year for 2 fabulous nights and a rare 2 night Florida performance for Phil Lesh and the Terrapin Family Band make potent headliners for another of our fantastic line-ups and brings a great jamband excitement to what has now become one of the most popular Festivals in the country.  THE 2018 WANEE MUSIC FESTIVAL returns Thursday April 19th through Saturday April 21st to the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.
