The Wood Brothers

The Wood Brothers have released "Cry Over Nothing" (listen/share)—the second single from the Nashville-based trio's forthcoming studio album, 'Kingdom In My Mind'—due January 24 on Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers.

Dobro, mandolin, guitar, musical exaltations and vocal flourishes – and much more – lilted through the autumn-painted trees and into the ears and souls of some colorful attendees at the fairgrounds in the Sierra Nevada foothill town of Placerville, California, at the ninth annual Hangtown Music Festival (formerly the Hangtown Halloween Ball).

The Wood Brothers have announced the release of their next studio album 'Kingdom In My Mind' due January 24 via Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers. The 11-song collection is the band's most spontaneous and experimental work yet. Recorded over a series of freewheeling, improvised sessions, the album is a reckoning with circumstance, mortality, and human nature.

It was a summer New England weekend at the site of the Marshfield Fairgrounds in Marshfield, MA. The 7th Levitate Music & Arts Festival was underway with some big names in rock, reggae, blues, and jam music. Not only does it bring great music, but it also brings great philanthropy and a homegrown vibe.

The Wood Brothers have announced 'Live at the Fillmore,' the latest edition to an ongoing series of concert recordings. Due September 6 via Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers, the 14-track collection presents highlights from the band's two night stand at the historic San Francisco venue earlier this year. An essential addition to their discography, 'Live At The Fillmore' will be available on vinyl and digital formats.

“Ooh. Lake Street Dive. I like them.” An off-handed comment from a friend with musical taste a few degrees away from mine planted the seed that finally bloomed in all its glory last night. Isn’t it funny how much we shape our thoughts about a band based on the personality of those who describe a band to us? You see, Erin, who likes Lake Street Dive, would never be caught dead at a Phish show. She may see Dead and Company, and maybe even saw the Dead proper, growing up in California.
