I despise the term “jamband” – wait - let me take that back – I dislike the word “jamband” when trying to describe a genre of music.  This hasn’t always been the case.  In the early 90’s, I was into Phish, the Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic, and these bands, while vastly different, did kind of fit into the jamband genre, with psychedelic extended guitar throw-downs, driving drumbeats and improvational aspects not fo

Zach Deputy brought his creatively branded “island infused, drum ‘n’ bass, Gospel-Ninja-Soul” to the Fox Theatre this week.  Part gospel, because he is a disciple in the way of the one-man-band.  Part ninja, because his music attacks you with dizzying techniques.  Part soul, because whether or not you choose to surrender to his music, your soul cannot escape.  Ok, that might not be the meaning Zac

Blackwater Music Festival at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, Live Oak, Florida, September 22- 24 was the lovechild of hippy fest and rave.  The perfectly loud flower child remix.

In a classic Zach Deputy move, the one-man-band touring machine played 4 shows in two days at the Rockwood Music Hall September 13th and 14th in New York City. The venue was an intimate bar, with only a slightly raised stage for the artists, and a little dancing room for the listeners.
