Jeff Crosby Confirms New Album; Shares New Single "Silver Lining"

Singer/songwriter Jeff Crosby has announced the release of his seventh studio album ‘Another Petal Falls Off The Rose,’ out on July 26. Known for his distinctive Americana and country leanings, this new collection of songs marks a stylistic turning point in Crosby’s catalog. For this project, he enlisted legendary bassist Dave Schools (Widespread Panic) to handle the production reigns. The result is an invigorating collection of songs rife with expansive arrangements, Southern rock-hued twang and visceral ruminations on forgiveness, redemption and new love.

Crosby, who splits his time between Austin, TX and Boise, ID, is giving fans an early preview of the album through the release of his lead single, “Silver Lining.” Anchored by lush pedal steel and soul-tinged grooves, the track is one of Crosby’s most inspirational to date. “Silver Lining” is now available on all streaming platforms. Recorded at Space Camp Studios in Occidental, CA ‘Another Petal Falls Off The Rose’ features eight original songs, all of which were written by Crosby. Other players on the album include Crosby’s longtime band members Matt Fabbi (bass guitar, vocals) and Michael Mitchell (drums), as well as Jason Crosby (piano, keys); Mookie Siegel (keys, synthesizers) and John Keane (pedal steel, shakers, vocals).

“This album is the sound of a 36 year-old musician/traveler and his band from the Pacific Northwest wading through a mid-life crisis post-pandemic while also falling in love again, attempting to come to terms with a horrible breakup and avoiding inevitable sobriety,” explains Crosby. “I think getting older and realizing I’ve been at this for twenty years was somewhat heavy on my mind while writing this group of songs. Being proud of the fact that we’re still here and still writing new music, staying inspired…having fun with it.”

“I’ve never worked with a producer quite as ‘hands-on’ as [Dave] Schools. He really wanted to get me out of my usual habits and make something that would stand out from my previous albums. Taking songs apart and putting them back together. Ultimately, it made this batch of songs something completely unique from my past albums.”
“Out In The Country” kicks off the album with a swaggering blues-rocker that pays homage to Crosby’s hometown in Idaho. Fans may recognize the reworked track from his album ‘All Nighter’ (2014).  He recently played it on the nationally syndicated series Texas Music Scene. Check out the impressive performance here.

Atmospheric and timely, the title track displays some of Crosby’s most thoughtful and vulnerable songcraft to date as he swirls his personal experiences into those of modern-day America.

“Don’t Wanna Die Young” rounds out the album with a sparse yet meaningful message about closing the chapter on reckless behavior and choosing to live a life with intention and purpose.

Known for his blistering live performances, Crosby will tour extensively throughout the US in 2024, including stops in Montana, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Texas. Stay tuned for additional tour announcements.

Born and raised in Idaho, Crosby has been sharing his unique perspective of Americana throughout the US and Europe for the past decade. After moving to Los Angeles, CA in 2012,  Crosby landed two songs ("This Old Town" and "Oh Love, Oh Lord") on the hit FX series Sons of Anarchy, which garnered instant attention and demand for live performances. Shortly thereafter, Crosby and his band played an assortment of clubs, festivals, and biker rallies throughout the country, performing over 200 shows a year for the next five years.

During 2015-2019, Crosby played guitar for Widespread Panic songwriter Jerry Joseph and Americana and Red Dirt icons Reckless Kelly. After spending four years in Nashville, Crosby released his most recent studio album, ‘Waitin’ On A Miracle’ (2022), produced and engineered by Gregg Williams and Jonathan Tyler.
