Jazz Is Phsh is set to embark on a Northeast Spring tour, kicking off in Rochester, NY, at Three Heads Brewing on May 30th and wrapping up in Plymouth, NH, at the Flying Monkey on June 8th. The supergroup is renowned for blending Phish songs with jazz compositions, ranging from old-school artists like Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock to contemporary artists like Nate Smith and Kinfolk.

Their arrangements are crafted for both Phish fans and newcomers alike. The rocking jazz fusion instrumental interpretations introduce people to Phish music who might not have otherwise given it a chance. For Phish fans, the experience is layered, as the songs are rearranged to keep longtime enthusiasts guessing. The music seamlessly weaves through passages from various artists, with occasional original compositions overlaid onto Phish melodies.

About the Band:

Inspired by Jazz Is Dead, the original formation of the band came together to create an album of instrumental arrangements of Phish songs. Led by the Chase Brothers, the album featured legendary musicians such as Dennis Chambers, Michael Ray, Jeff Coffin, and Grant Green Jr. As a touring act, the band has included a rotating cast of musicians revolving around founding member Adam Chase. Recent iterations, dubbed "The Phishermen," have featured a quintet (often with special guests) diving into intricate mashups of Phish music, original compositions, and legendary jazz standards and deep cuts. The presentation of their music is truly unique.

Why Attend?

Phish is one of the most influential bands in the world. Their original approach to songwriting has built a devout following that surpasses many bands with far more mainstream exposure. By being unapologetically original, Phish has created a songbook that inspires generations of musicians to break down the walls of music composition. Adam Chase founded Jazz Is Phsh to share this extensive musical catalog with musicians from various backgrounds, often introducing them to Phish through jazzy, funky interpretations.
