Gathering of the Vibes is pleased to announce its return to historic Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut, August 9 through 12, 2007, with four days of live music, arts, and camping. After a six-year out-of-state residency, the 12th annual GOTV returns to the extensively renovated site of its legendary 1999 and 2000 events. Seaside Park boasts 370 acres of spectacular tree-lined parkland and over a mile of pristine beachfront overlooking Long Island Sound.
The 12th annual Gathering of the Vibes will again showcase the type of diverse lineup that has entrenched the event as one of the Northeast's premier summer festival destinations. The initial lineup includes: Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir with his band RatDog; 5-Time Grammy Award Winner Buddy Guy, Los Lobos, Assembly of Dust, Bridgeport's own Deep Banana Blackout, and New Orleans Dirty Dozen Brass Band. San Francisco icon Wavy Gravy will once again serve as Master of Ceremonies.
Additional artist announcements are forthcoming. The City of Bridgeport views the renewal of its relationship with the Vibes as an opportunity to exhibit the Park's multi-million dollar Park renovation. Bridgeport Mayor John Fabrizi said, "We couldn't be more pleased to have the Gathering of the Vibes return to the Park City". We know that those visiting Seaside Park will love what we've done here." Gathering of the Vibes Executive Director Ken Hays agrees: "With the help of the City, in 1999 and 2000 we put on unforgettable events and are thrilled to return in 2007. With the recent renovations, Seaside Park has never looked more magnificent."
Gathering of the Vibes is an all-ages, camp-next-to-your-car event, with on-site vendors providing eclectic food vendors, beverages, and a multitude of arts and crafts.
