HAMISH ANDERSON--the 23-year-old Australian singer-songwriter and blues-rock guitarist--has announced he’ll be touring the U.S. and Canada this spring and summer in support of his critically acclaimed sophomore EP, RESTLESS.
Having opened for B.B. King and just completed seven showcase performances at this year’s South by Southwest Music Festival, the guitar virtuoso will begin this run of shows on May 2 in Uncasville, CT with stops in New York City (June 4) and Los Angeles (July 23) already confirmed and more dates to be announced soon (full tour itinerary below, tickets available here).
“I love playing live and I’ve been working on new material for my next release, so I’m looking forward to sharing the new music while on the road this summer,” says HAMISH.
Influenced by music from the Mississippi Delta alongside with classic rock of the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and others, HAMISH has incorporated his extensive musical knowledge into a sound that is entirely his own. Buzz for HAMISH continues to build, with RESTLESS and his impressive live show garnering strong reviews. GUITARWORLD.com proclaimed Hamish a "guitar phenom” when they premiered the video for the EP’s first single “Burn,” an adrenaline-charged blues explosion, infused with classic guitar riffs and dramatic drumbeats. In addition, HAMISH’s name was the first one out the mouth of critically acclaimed artist Gary Clark Jr. when asked by Revolt TV which guitar players under 30 music audiences should be watching. The EP’s second single, “Little Lies,” is arriving at radio later this month, with a video to follow.
On RESTLESS, HAMISH teamed up with producer/engineer Krish Sharma (Rolling Stones, Counting Crows). Recorded in Los Angeles at Henson Studios, the EP showcases Anderson’s blues-infused rock and engaging lyrical imagery. Beyond “Burn,” the other tracks on RESTLESS (“Shotgun,” “Little Lies” “Restless,” “Street Lights” and the live bonus track “My Sweetheart, You”) display Anderson ’s wide-ranging guitar talents along with his distinctive vocals. In addition, Grammy Award-winning pedal steel guitarist Greg Leisz (Tom Petty, Ray LaMontagne) adds his magic to “Shotgun” and “Street Lights.” Fans can purchase RESTLESS on Amazon or iTunes.
