Jason Sinay, an LA-based songwriter and guitarist, has released a new single, “Picture Perfect.” The track precedes Sinay’s highly anticipated debut album, Mountain, set for release on February 21, 2025.

To date, Sinay—one of the most respected touring and studio guitarists in the industry—has unveiled three tracks in advance of Mountain. The most recent, “High Plains Drifter,” was praised by Glide Magazine, which declared: “Sinay [takes] the song into a groovy, cosmic country-rock territory with airy vocals and a subtle twang, not to mention some damn fine guitar breakdowns. Lyrically, he crafts a tale of the old West while tying in his own experiences, making for a song that is as compelling in its songwriting as it is in its musicianship.”

The newly released “Picture Perfect” continues in the same vein, offering elegant roots-rock sincerity. It’s a love song, folks, and a great one—the kind that exudes gallant poeticism, stirs that loving feeling, and transcends cliché with an almost spiritual resonance. The accompanying video for the track is a simple yet impassioned performance, perfectly complementing the song without the need for elaborate production.

For over 20 years, Jason Sinay has shared stages and studio sessions with a remarkable roster of music legends, including Lucinda Williams, Jackson Browne, Keith Richards, and Neil Young, to name just a few. He was also a founding member of the Dirty Knobs, a longtime project led by Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell. Sinay stepped away from the band in 2022 to follow the muse that inspired the material on Mountain.

The album’s first disc features full-band arrangements with an A-list lineup: Sinay on vocals and guitar, Bruce Watson on guitar, Phil Parlapiano on keys, mandolin, and squeezebox, Doug Livingston on pedal steel, Lance Morrison or Mike Mennell on bass, and Matt Laug or Herman Matthews on drums. Additionally, Mountain will include a special “second side” offering stripped-down versions of the same songs, performed solo by Sinay on guitar and vocals.
