The Blues Brothers are what can only be described as the stuff of musical, comedic and cinematic legend. They have become an inextricable thread woven into the fabric of our culture and the images of Jake and Elwood are universally and instantaneously recognizable throughout this, and quite possibly other, solar systems.
A reverent replication of those irreverent days of yore, THE OFFICIAL BLUES BROTHERS REVUE is a live concert show that combines the comedy and hit songs from the original 1980 hit film as well as the five iconic albums released by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. Featuring Wayne Catania as Jake and Kieron Lafferty as Elwood, THE OFFICIAL BLUES BROTHERS REVUE and their eight-piece intercontinental rhythm & blues revue band pay homage to the humor, music and mayhem of the Blues Brothers and to Chicago’s rich musical history of blues, gospel and soul music.
Produced by Dan Aykroyd, Judith Belushi and original Blues Brothers musical director Paul Shaffer, THE OFFICIAL BLUES BROTHERS REVUE will be kicking off its fall run this Saturday, September 21 in Danville, KY. The 31-date outing will then hit various cities throughout North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Ohio, Michigan, Texas, California, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and Connecticut before wrapping Sunday, November 24 in Monroe Township, NJ. The tour will then resume with another 30 shows in 2014 starting January 16 and running through mid-April. See below for full tour schedule.
THE OFFICIAL BLUES BROTHERS REVUE features all the Blues Brothers classics including “Soul Man,” “Rubber Biscuit,” “Sweet Home Chicago,” “Rawhide” and “Gimme Some Lovin’” among many others. Fun for all-ages, the show has been hailed by the Chicago Sun-Times for its “infectious and unbridled energy...[that] blows the roof off” (Jeff Johnson).
