Salt Lake City-based beloved purveyors of bluegrass, skiing, and silly outfits, Pixie and The Partygrass Boys continue rolling out their forthcoming self-titled album with the release of the second single “Into Nothing,” an anthemic depiction of the full cycle of breaking up from release to outrage to eradicating memories altogether. The full-length record will come out via Americana Vibes on November 8, 2024. Listen to “Into Nothing” HERE.

“Into Nothing” maintains a steady four-on-the-floor beat with musical and rhythmic ebbs and flows that mirror the spiraling emotions experienced during a breakup. Described as “the angriest break-up song I’ve ever written, inspired by the healthiest break-up I’ve ever had” by vocalist, Katia "Pixie" Racine, the track is driven by the frustration of holding back during a healthy split—sometimes you just want to say everything you held back and watch it all burn away. The song explores the pain of letting go, expressing anger and the desire to erase the significance of a past relationship.

“Sometimes you just have to get it out, everything you really wanted to say to them on the phone, but nooo, you’ve been to too much therapy and had to be all conscious of emotional regulation and try to practice healthy communication skills blah blah blah,” she says maintaining the bands ethos of real-talk and humanistic connection with the subject matter expressed throughout their catalog.

Hot off the heels of the success of their genre-defying cover album, The Chicken Coop, Vol. 1, the band delivers the same energy on the upcoming self-titled record with a carefully curated song selection that showcases every member’s talent through breathtaking solos, clever lyricism, and memorable arrangements.

Pixie and The Partygrass Boys wrap up the year with plays at Charleston Pour House in Charleston, NC; CaveFest at The Caverns in Pelham, TN; Blue Ridge Jam in Asheville, NC; Moab Folk Festival in Moab UT; and will play the inaugural Baja Wondergrass in El Sargento, Mexico in April 2025.
