Ruf Records recording artist Tasha Taylor has always carried the torch for Soul and Blues. Now, with her dazzling third album, Honey For The Biscuit, set for an March 18 release, the US singer/songwriter/musician unveils thirteen new songs that push her beloved genre into the spotlight. “I’m carrying on the next generation of rhythm, blues, and soul,” says Tasha.

"Eats the Light," the new single from Lotus, features the band's classic propulsive sound with a dramatic leap forward in songwriting. Frequent collaborator, Gabe Otto, joins on lead vocals, pairing perfectly with the bubbling analog synths and driving groove inspired by early-80s Talking Heads. Themes of technologic-fueled paranoia run through the lyrics inhabiting a world oversaturated by bright screens that obscure all else.

Charismo is the Hackensaw Boys record you’ve been waiting to hear. The 11-track album feels like the zenith release of the band’s 17 years, gathering their diverse life experiences and myriad of roots influences, and crystallizing them into a magnum opus on the Hackensaw way of being. Traditional Appalachian and Delta music lay the groundwork, but it’s injected with a heavy dose of the contemporary, good-times-roll kind of spit and vinegar the band has become known for over the years.

Paul Kantner, co-founding member of Jefferson Airplane died today after suffering a massive heart attack just days earlier.  Kantner had been with the Airplane and its later spin-off, Jefferson Starship for half a century. Kantner suffered his first heart attack back in March of 2015. After taking time off to recover, Paul returned to the stage later in the year to honor the 50th Anniversary on the Airplane.  Kantner is survived by his two sons and one daughter, Paul was 74.

Vermont four-piece, Twiddle, has announced headlining Spring Tour dates in the Southeast U.S. and Midwest beginning at the end of March. The band recently celebrated the release of their acclaimed album, PLUMP, with several sold out shows in Brooklyn, Boston and Burlington, as well as playing two sets on Jam Cruise.
