Rootwire returns to Kaeppner’s Woods in Logan, Ohio August 15-18 peeking its head into the nexus of nature and culture once again. The heart and soul of Papadosio’s artistic expression, Rootwire is a multi-day event that envelops those in attendance in a cascading flow of artistic expression from live music to painting, installation to performance art, presentations, workshops, ceremony and more. An expedition into light, nature, sound, community and healing awaits all those in attendance.

The Doobie Brothers have been announced to join an already massive 2013 concert lineup at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip®. The classic rock Hall of Famers responsible for over four decades of American top hits will take the famed motorcycle and music festival stage on Monday, August 5, prior to another American icon, Kid Rock. The Doobie Brothers join a 9 day world class lineup during the Sturgis motorcycle rally that already includes The Cult, ZZ Top, Toby Keith, Rob Zombie, Brantley Gilbert, Halestorm, Mastodon, Machine Head, Queensrÿche, Sublime with Rome and many more to be announced soon.

The daily band lineup for the second annual Kanrocksas Music & Arts Festival has been announced.

Under the expansive Colorado skies are where stars are born each year at SONIC BLOOM, taking place June 13-16 at Shadow’s Ranch in gorgeous Georgetown, CO.

Jersey Shore Entertainment Group, Harrison Promotions, Halogen Media Works and Management Trendkiller Entertainment are proud to present the inaugural Jersey Shore Music Festival on July 20, 2013 at FirstEnergy Park (BlueClaws Stadium) in Lakewood, NJ. The all-ages event will feature over fifty bands on six stages with national headliner Papadosio closing out the event.

Preparations are underway for the 3rd Annual John Hartford Memorial Festival being held in the hills of southern Indiana at the Official Bean Blossom & Bill Monroe Music Park in beautiful Brown County, May 30–June 1. This is the third of what the festival’s creator, John Hotze, and co-promoter, Dan Dillman, hope to see as an event to preserve the legacy and music of the late John Hartford, one of America’s most beloved songwriter/performers and musicians.

Interlocken, a 4-day music festival, with an emphasis on world class music, locally sourced food and sustainability, is confirmed to take place September 5 – 8 at Oak Ridge Farm at the foot of the Blue Ridge in Central Virginia, a mere 35 miles south of Charlottesville, and approximately 100 miles from both Washington, DC, and Richmond, VA. Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Furthur, Zac Brown, The String Cheese Incident, and The Black Crowes will perform.

I’m coming up on my fourth Wakarusa, and it’s hard to put into words exactly what I’m the most excited about because I just come into the festival KNOWING I’m going to have a great time. Each and every year the festival grows, and I can’t wait to see what all is on-site for the 10th festival, taking place on Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Ark. May 30 to June 2.

1. Classics from your favorite artists

BottleRock held its inaugural festival last weekend at Napa Valley’s Expo Fairgrounds under a scorching sun, but the heat wasn’t enough to keep the crowds away. Downtown Napa Valley became BottleRock Central, swarming with crossing guard-policemen and retailers pushing their goods, and in many cases, their parking lots. Nearby neighbors set up pizza and lemonade stands and signs dissuading BottleRockers from urinating on their lawns.
