Black Pistol Fire wrapped up their 2017 headline tour in last week in Nashville. Caught live at Bottom Lounge in Chicago last Thursday, this powerhouse duo scorched the stage in a rapid-fire 60 minute set that left the audience drenched, exhilarated and cheering for more. But these fans knew what they were in for. It was likely Chicago fans first saw them at Lollapalooza 2015 or Riotfest 2017, and what drew this crowd to the WXRT sold out event.
Eric Owen, drums and Kevin McKeown, guitar command a power and force that is unmatched in today's concert landscape. McKeown is possessed playing guitar as if wrestling in a death match with his instrument. He is a non stop blur of jumping, lunging into the audience, jumping off of Owen's drum kit, leaps, back-rolls on the ground, yet he always gets back to the mic with ease and timing.
They have five releases under their belt and have been around a few year. The latest CD, "Deadbeat Graffiti" its worth checking out. But be sure to catch them live next time they are in your area. Back on the road in February of 2018, Black Pistol Fire with be opening up for ZZ Ward. That a billing not to miss.
