Each year since 1976, the New Jersey Jazz Society has presented Jazzfest, one of the best and oldest mainstream jazz festivals in the entire northeast. This year is no exception as this popular jazz festival serves up nine hours of great music in the air conditioned comfort of two concert halls plus outdoor entertainment, a food court and vendors selling everything from hard-to-find CDs to crafts and interesting merchandise.
What’s more American than rock n’ roll and democracy? Well, a few lucky young people are getting a healthy dose of both this summer, taking “The Great American Road Trip” to register voters at Dave Matthews Band, Wilco, Phish and Furthur concerts across the country.
In conjunction with their show at the Independent in San Francisco Friday, June 15th where the band will be playing their seminal debut album "Back to the Grotto" in its entirety, The Mother Hips are pleased to announce they are offering the entire album as a free download starting today through Saturday June 2nd.
Manifestivus will celebrate their 10th anniversary this year in Cabot, VT. Curated by Toubab Krewe, Manifestivus is a “local festival with a global vibe” featuring an eclectic lineup of international musicians in a Vermont country setting. The festival takes place August 17th & 18th and will feature headlining sets by Toubab Krewe each night. Toubab Krewe bassist and Cabot native David Pransky founded Manifestivus in 2002.
