The rain held off and the crowds flooded in, on Friday's kickoff to the tenth anniversary of the Forecastle Festival in Louisville, Kentucky. Down to the very last minute volunteers and staff worked diligently to place each piece of ship wreckage in its specific location for a record crowd that wrapped down Witherspoon Street. Throughout the weekend more than 35,000 attendees came together on the banks of the Ohio River to take part in the celebration of music, art, and activism.
Back for a second straight year the Harvest Festival will feature the 2nd annual Fiddlin' and Pickin' Contest! Categories include mandolin, fiddle, banjo and flatpicking; winners receive a cash prize and gift basket.
Submissions are available online in advance and will also be accepted up to 15 minutes before the competition begins. Even if you aren't a Fiddler or Picker be sure and stop by The Roost to check out all the talent!
Rubblebucket has recently signed on to the Artists Against Fracking campaign, alongside artists such as: Tune-Yards, MGMT, Patti Smith, My Morning Jacket, Yoko Ono, and many more.
