Colorado roots band FY5–Finnders & Youngberg is coming to the Gold Hill Inn in Boulder, and they're bringing their own blend of progressive roots music with gritty honky-tonk/country songwriting. Led by Mike Finders, the songs on their new album, Eat the Moon, which just dropped a few months ago, range from swaggering 'back door man' whiskey swillers to delicately crafted ballads that reflect the cool open air of their Colorado home.

East Nashville's The JAG has announced the self-release of Pondermental Wonderment In Hypocricity on October 23rd. Produced and Mixed by Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff) at his Bomb Shelter "Analog Studio Wonderland" in Nashville, the full-length sophomore LP features eight new stimulating tracks of stylistic experimentation with world music and genre-defying influence.

It’s big news for fans, for sure… Railroad Earth, who have had a brilliant 2015, bounding off a successful run with Warren Haynes collab, Ashes and Dust, (along with tour dates), Palladia’s premiere of RRE’s 2014 Red Rocks show, 2015’s Red Rocks return, and oh, so much more, are happy to announce another colossal tour agenda for Winter 2016.

SunSquabi has announced that they will be throwing their album release party at the Ogden Theatre in early 2016. The band recently signed with All Good Records joining GRiZ, The Floozies, Manic Focus, The Geek x VRV, Muzzy Bearr and more. The electronic trio had a busy summer with festivals and a debut performance at Red Rocks in September. The album will be the bands 2^nd full length record and their biggest outreach to date.

Riot Fest Chicago’s opening day was full of once in a lifetime moments. The most impressive was the early afternoon trifecta of sets by Death, Fishbone and Living Colour on adjacent stages. The sonic threads tying the three African-American rock bands together were loud and clear. Detroit’s protopunk pioneers Death played most of its 1974 debut record and tracks from the latest effort N.E.W., both released on Drag City Records. Fishbone entertained with its trademark upbeat mix of punk, funk, ska and soul.

When you receive news of someone passing away, emotions take hold.  Depending on how well you knew the person, the duration of those emotions can vary.  When the person is your best friend and brother, you relive the loss every day.  As I have learned this year from my time spent with members of Michael Mirro’s family, you also relive the joys.
