It was red noses all around on May 22 in Southern Sonoma County, as thousands converged at the Mountain Event Center to celebrate Wavy Gravy in merriment and song on the occasion of his 80^th birthday.  

It’s been forty years since the release of New Orleans pianist James Booker’s explosive live album, Blues and Ragtime From New Orleans. Once referred to by Dr. John as “the best black, gay, one-eyed junkie piano genius that New Orleans has ever produced,” Booker’s life was beyond fascinating and like many artists wasn’t fully realized until long after his death. A New Orleans native, Booker was born in 1939 and died at the tragically young age of forty-four. Still, New Orleans remembers him well and fondly.

For the last few weeks since the completion of his studio in the outskirts of Toronto, electronic music producer deadmau5 has been sharing online many new developing productions and works in progress.  Today, May 27 he has made available his first official single release since 2014 with "Snowcone."  The downtempo instrumental made its debut today on deadmau5's mau5trap Beats 1 radio show.  It is available to listen and purchase now at:
