Thursday, July 6, The Taste of Chicago music festival opens up with the Grammy award winning Roots. Special guest Donny Trumpet opened the show with Chance the Rapper joining on stage.
The 7th annual Highberry Music Festival took place this weekend after its trek up Mulberry Mountain from years prior at Byrds Adventure Center. Art, camping and a spectacular lineup brought patrons from all over the country to enjoy the gorgeous Arkansas scenery and the best company that has ever assembled on a mountain top. Minimal weather events kept the air cool while musicians the likes of Buckethead, Keller Williams, Wookiefoot and Yonder Mountain String Band stoked the fire onstage.
Hard Working Americans have announced opening acts ahead of its 2016 tour in support of the new album, Rest In Chaos. The dates will see The Mother Hips in 4 west coast cities, Aaron Lee Tasjan in Texas and Arkansas, Raelyn Nelson Band in Birmingham and Atlanta, and The Congress in Knoxville, Charlotte, Wilmington and Saxapahaw. A limited number of tickets for all shows remain.

After a newly formed partnership, The Rex Foundation and the Jake Peavy Foundation announced today their first benefit concert: Can’t Stop The Train––A Tribute to Jerry Garcia, taking place Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 9 p.m. at the Fillmore. The lineup features: Jackie Greene, Col. Bruce Hampton, Cody and Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi Allstars, Jeff Sipe of the Aquarium Rescue Unit, Jennifer Hartswick of Trey Anastasio Band, and Jake Peavy and his band the Outsiders, as well as other special guests to be announced at a later date.

Colorado based Americana Quintet The Drunken Hearts hosted their “Love & Thirst” album release party on a Thursday night at the Bluebird Theater in Denver. A far cry from the soulless popular music seeding festivals and stadiums, The Drunken Hearts played an intimate and emotional set.
