Don McLean’s beloved hit “American Pie,” makes its way into the new AppleTV+ sci-fi movie Finch starring Tony and Golden Globe Award winner Tom Hanks. Hanks plays “Finch Weinberg,” a robotics engineer who builds an AI sidekick to take care of his companion canine after he’s gone. Finch’s relatable and vulnerable side is revealed as he sings “American Pie” to himself when he is lonely and while making his way through a dust storm that might lead to his death.

Acclaimed indie-folk singer/songwriter John Craigie is gearing up for his third KeepItWarm Tour, the biggest tour of his career, beginning November 10th & 11th with back-to-back shows in Arcata, CA. In the tradition of past KeepItWarm tours, Craigie has partnered with nonprofits for these shows to help the communities he plays for, with $1 from each ticket sold going to a regional charity.

Virginia’s jam and alt-rock outfit Kendall Street Company have teamed up with toe-tappin’ bluegrass quartet The Dirty Grass Players to announce a slew of co-headlining winter tour dates this December. The two bands will each perform a set of original songs before collaborating under the name “The Dirty Street Grass Company” for a super jam at the end of each show.

At this year’s Ohana Festival, Eddie Vedder performed his single "Long Way” for the first time during his festival headlining set.
