Acclaimed jazz pianist David Kikoski brings his formidable trio to Zinc for a splendid evening of jazz piano on Tuesday, November 1. He’s supported by Matt Penman on bass and Jeff “Tain” Watts on drums.

David Kikoski is one of New York’s busiest pianists. It’s no wonder. Given his swinging, always spontaneous playing, one immediately understands why his bio includes tenures with Roy Haynes, Bob Berg, Pat Metheny, and the Mingus Big Band.

Having traveled the globe with their music, The Trouble Notes are bringing stories of immigration and cultural identity to the stage - starting with their newest single “Mayahuel”. “Mayahuel” is an instrumental composition that romanticizes and tells the story of their friend Martha Xucunostli. A powerful female character, she traveled across an ocean from her native Mexico to Belgium for love and had to navigate the balance between her native traditions and those of her new European home.

After stealing the show on a month-long tour with The Dead South and Lucero followed by performances at this year's AmericanaFest and Rebels & Renegades Festival, Colorado Springs-based outlaw alt-folk group Tejon Street Corner Thieves (TSCT) have returned with a brand new cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins "I Put A Spell On You".

Fresh off the release of its ‘Jubilation’ album (10.7 via Billy Blue Records), roots “supergroup” (NPR) Appalachian Road Show announces that it will make its Grand Ole Opry debut on Friday, November 25th.

House music has always been a 12-inch format, the iconic vinyl single has long been fetishised by DJs and perfect for the fast paced, sometimes throwaway culture of electronic music. But among this world are the game-changers; the visionary artists who buck trends and determine new directions and ideas for generations to come, Ten City—who is Byron Stingily and Marshall Jefferson--are one of those acts.   Their new single “Love Is Love” is out today, October 28 via Helix Records.
