Teddy Thompson has announced his eighth studio album, My Love Of Country, will be released August 18. True to its title, Thompson offers deeply personal and heartfelt readings of ten classic country songs by songwriters like Buck Owens, Hank Cochran, Eddy Arnold, Cindy Walker and even his own father, Richard Thompson.

Rising Americana-folk-rock band Briscoe is set to release their debut album, West of It All on September 15th via ATO Records. Produced by Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats), the album features a collection of folksy hooks and bold songwriting that bridges the gap between classic American roots music and its modern-day incarnation.

San Francisco Bay Area roots keyboard wizard Mitch Woods has set an August 18 release date for the expanded deluxe edition of his 2-CD album set, Friends Along the Way, on Club 88 Records, distributed by The Orchard. Rising sibling duo The Ries Brothers (Charlie and Kevin Jordan Ries) have released the official video for their new single “Strange Times.” The visual, shot in New Orleans earlier this summer, provides the perfect gritty backdrop for a track that showcases the duo’s heavier side and lyrically, it’s a release of the frustration we’ve all had over the last couple of years.
