The Grateful Dead's Donna Jean Godchaux and The Zen Tricksters, the pre-eminent jam-rock band, have come together. While having performed on occasion with the Zen Tricksters in the past, this reunion marks the second time Donna Jean has joined with this band for a complete performance. The first time was just last November 12, 2005 for the Grateful Dead's Rex Foundation. They are joining forces, along with Mookie Siegel (David Nelson Band, Phil Lesh & Friends) on keyboards and Wendy Lanter (Hope in Time) on vocals, as KETTLE JOE'S PSYCHEDELIC SWAMP REVUE. The founder of The Zen Tricksters, Jeff Mattson (a former Phil & Friends participant) states, "concert goers can expect to hear original material from Donna Jean as well as The Zen Tricksters, plus some classic Grateful Dead & Garcia Band tunes from Donna's tenure with these bands." Donna Jean adds, "The Zen Tricksters and I are excited to join together in a collaborative musical expression that we hope is as enjoyable for the audience as it is for us! When we teamed up in New York City last November, we immediately realized that playing together was something we wanted to pursue further. Our new band that we affectionately call Kettle Joe's Psychedelic Swamp Revue will hit the road soon with some fun, eclectic music!"
