Today, LaMP ft. Russ Lawton, Scott Metzger & Ray Paczkowski have announced a 12-date Fall tour, including their first ever shows in the Midwest. Beginning October 10 at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Pittsburgh, highlights along the way include stops at Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, OH on October 11, Headliners Music Hall in Louisville, KY on October 12 and Chop Shop in Chicago, IL on October 19. The band picks up again in November with four nights in the Northeast, including return engagements at Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, PA, Lark Hall in Albany, NY and The Drake in Amherst, MA. LaMP's Fall tour adds to five previously announced August shows on the East Coast. Tickets go on-sale via artist pre-sale at ilikelamp.com on Wednesday, July 24 at 9am CT through Thursday, July 25 at 9am CT, while general on-sale begins Friday, July 26 at 9am CT.
The improvisational groove trio's drummer Russ Lawton and keyboardist Ray Paczkowski also comprise the organ/drums duo Soule Monde, as well as being long-standing members of the Trey Anastasio Band, while guitarist Scott Metzger performs with Joe Russo's Almost Dead in addition to being an in-demand studio musician. Initially forming for a one off performance at Nectar's in Burlington, VT, the chemistry between Lawton, Metzger and Paczkowski was immediate. They'd soon record and release a self-titled debut album in 2020 and ever since have been slowly and steadily ramping up their tour schedule.
Most recently, LaMP ft. Russ Lawton, Scott Metzger & Ray Paczkowski released Live At Nectar's, a double album recorded on November 3 and 4, 2023 at the band's Burlington, VT home-base. Multi-tracked and mixed by Ben Collette, the set presents the pointed improvisations and raw funk that ultimately sparked the word of mouth that's led to sold out shows across the Northeast and a burgeoning national fanbase. The set is available now as a download exclusively via Bandcamp with 2-LP vinyl to follow this Fall. LaMP have also premiered a live video of "Tango," filmed earlier this year on April 19 at PHOME in Portland, ME. The clip was directed, filmed and edited by Caitlin Carolan of Just One Look Media.
