Reid Genauer, the prolific singer-songwriter and frontman of Assembly of Dust and Strangefolk, announces the forthcoming release of not one, but two albums titled "Angels and Alibis" and "The Promised Hour." These albums epitomize Genauer's signature storytelling prowess and mark a momentous occasion in the arc of Reid’s prolific musical career with Assembly of Dust.
"Angels and Alibis" represents a deeply personal journey through Genauer's unique brand of imaginative songcraft, showcasing his innate ability to create compelling characters and narratives that resonate with audiences on a visceral level. Produced by Greg Loiacono of The Mother Hips, the album is a testament to their complementary creative pairing and Genauer’s evolution as a songwriter.
In tandem with "Angels and Alibis," Genauer unveils "The Promised Hour," commemorating the 20th anniversary of Assembly of Dust's acclaimed live record, "The Honest Hour." This special release offers fans the second half of the band's iconic live performance, recorded on 02/02/2004 in Troy, NY.
To bring these albums to fruition, Genauer is harnessing the power of community through a Kickstarter campaign, which offers a range of other musical “Trumpets and Trinkets,” including a coveted 4-record vinyl set. As he embarks on this new chapter, Genauer invites fans old and new to join him for a special three-day residency in Boulder, Colorado, on April 26, 27, and 28 at The Roots Music Project. Across the span of three nights, Genauer promises material written over 3 decades with no repeats. Look for fall tour dates from Assembly of Dust coming soon.
