True Music Festival, a brand new festival experience coming to Scottsdale, Arizona, is pleased to announce the first round of performers for the inaugural event, which will be held at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick on December 14, 2013. The performer lineup at the multi-genre festival includes: wildly engaging EDM producer and DJ, Bassnectar; rock stalwarts, The Flaming Lips; hip-hop impresario, Wiz Khalifa; the indie-pop duo, Capital Cities; and indie-folk band, Lord Huron. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks, building off of these and other genres. In addition to a day of performances featuring a range of musicians, from nationally recognized artists to local favorites, the festival will also include a wide array of vendors, art installations, roving performers and more."We are incredibly excited to bring this level of talent to Arizona," says festival founder Jarid Dietrich. "This first round of artists should give people a glimpse at the direction we are headed and the unique experience we want to bring to the state."Leading the charge at True Music Festival, Bassnectar spans the spectrum of sonic style. Drawing inspiration from every genre imaginable, he shows no hesitation when it comes to fusing the familiar with the strange or the classic with the cutting edge. Genre bending in their own right, three-time Grammy award winners The Flaming Lips are known as much for their music as their ostentatious live shows. Utilizing costumes, balloons, puppets, video projections, complex light shows, confetti and just about anything else the band can find; The Lips set will be one not to miss. And, Best New Artist at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, Wiz Khalifa has established himself as one of the brightest young stars to watch. His music is loaded with pure rap bangers and smash pop hits, adored by his loyal fan following across the globe.Holding to True Music Festival's pledge of presenting a multi-genre event that would appeal to all, the final two artists provide an indie blend of music not immediately noticeable in the previous three artists. With a hit single that quickly shot to #1 on modern rock radio and is currently climbing the Top 40 charts, it’s hard to believe that Capital Cities’ duel frontmen were once jingle writers who met on Craigslist. This Los Angeles-based indie-electro team creates music with an upbeat mesh of programming and melody primed for stardom. And while being equally as indie as Capital Cities, Lord Huron crafts a blend of folk-rock, that may be most appealing to fans of My Morning Jacket. With songs characterized by the wide open spaces of the mythic American West, Lord Huron creates a rootsy foundation layered with ingenious sonic dimensions. The multi-stage festival, which is a first for the area, will be held at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Centrally located between Phoenix and neighboring Arizona State University, the venue is a part of a new 140-acre state-of-the-art complex, which serves as the spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. Uniquely positioned on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, it is one of the most desirable geographic regions of the entire metropolitan Phoenix area.A limited allotment of pre-sale tickets will go on sale Tuesday, August 27 for $60, before moving to $70 for General Admission. Tickets will be available online at truemusicfestival.com/tickets and at the gate, but are subject to availability. VIP packages will be available starting at $130.
