Michelle Malone is pleased to announce the upcoming release of her new album, 1977 on April 22, 2022 via SBS Records, distributed by BFD/The Orchard. And to kick-off the campaign, Americana Highways premiered the first single, "Not Who I Used to Be".

Blondie, one of the most influential bands to emerge from New York's punk scene, will release a limited edition EP featuring one of their most famous, endearing, and successful singles – "Sunday Girl."

Taken from the band's multi-million-selling album Parallel Lines, "Sunday Girl" was originally released in 1979 and was the follow-up single to the band's number one hit single, "Heart of Glass," and was a UK number one and a top 10 hit around Europe.

Noel Paul Stookey first heard the term “fazz” when he, as part of the legendary folk trio Peter, Paul & Mary, toured colleges with the Dave Brubeck Quartet in the 1960s. By way of introduction to a song that would feature both groups, Brubeck’s saxophonist Paul Desmond used the term—somewhat derisively—to refer to the mixture of folk and jazz they would perform together.

Fans of Prog Rock can rejoice in the news that the newly formed ProgJect will tour America, bringing "The Ultimate Prog Rock Experience” to venues this April and leading into their May 1 on-land headlining performance as part of “Cruise To The Edge” (which sets sail the next day). The band features Michael Sadler, Jonathan Mover, Mike Keneally, Ryo Okumoto and Matt Dorsey, performing the classics and epics of Genesis, Yes, King Crimson and ELP, along with some Pink Floyd, Rush, Jethro Tull, Peter Gabriel, Gentle Giant and more.

Following five releases with her sisters on ABC/Blue Thumb Records (including a Grammy® win in 1975 for the Bonnie and Anita Pointer-penned “Fairytale”), Bonnie Pointer left the group she co-founded and began a solo career. She signed with Motown Records in 1978, and her eponymous debut featured the hit “Heaven Must Have Sent You,” which reached #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. The next year brought another self-titled released, and a third album came five years later. Bonnie appeared on Soul Train in 1985, but it would be decades before she would release more music.

Sammi Garett releases her first single, "With You", from her forthcoming solo EP, Sweet Tooth. Sammi became synonymous with the color pink after nearly ten years as a vocalist for the Brooklyn based funk group, Turkuaz. She describes 2021 as a crazy year full of ups and downs. On the highs, Turkuaz was touring with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew to celebrate the 40th anniversary release of Talking Heads’ album “Remain in Light”, and Sammi announced her engagement to her creative partner, bandmate and soulmate, Greg Sanderson.

Fronted by powerhouse vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Lily Vakili, Vakili Band will release Walking Sideways on February 25, 2022. The New Jersey-based band’s musical touchstones include Patti Smith, Joan Jett, and Brandi Carlile – with a smattering of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” liberation, David Bowie’s chameleon-like “Changes” and the New York Dolls’ attitude thrown in for good measure.

Folksinger Michael Johnathon along with his faithful worldwide WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour community have announced distribution dates of March 18 & 19 in Western Kentucky for the WoodSongs Tornado Relief Effort (WoodSongs.com/Tornado). The program was called-into-action by Johnathon on December 14th in a YouTube video where he called upon anyone anywhere to donate musical instruments to replace those lost during the tornadoes throughout regions surrounding Western Kentucky.
