Sam Outlaw's new wave-inspired record 'Popular Mechanics' is due on November 12th, and today (10.8), he's sharing another preview of what to expect from the ambitious project with the release of "Sun Ain't Set." Written solely by Outlaw and produced by Cheyenne Medders, the song is a prime example of Outlaw's creative evolution.

Giraffe Aftermath, a reggae/rock outfit from Vancouver, BC, are set to release “Trying to Change”, a brand new single, on November 13th, 2021. The single sees the band returning from a hiatus of almost seven years. The song oozes with reflection and acceptance, admitting to our faults and shortcomings while committing to make proper adaptations moving forward.

If you recognize the voice of Ben Larsen, you are not mistaken. Larsen headed up the popular band Crow and the Canyon before going solo. Crow and the Canyon were more of an old timey, folk, bluegrass band, where his solo project has a lot more depth to the production. You still are treated to his unique brand of lyrics, but the vocals take an entirely new soulful characteristic. His new EP titled Drop will be out October 29th via Dutch Records. When asked the meaning behind the single here is what Ben had to say:

After the lead, roseate single “Bright Skies,” the song today is a swirling psychedelic hash of skittering, electronically-programmed drums, acoustic guitars, and nervy atmospherics as lyrically, Grant invokes a sense of tense, agoraphobic dread.

Austin-based nonprofit HOME, Housing Opportunities for Musicians and Entertainers, announces their annual benefit, “HOME COOKIN’ FOR THE HOLIDAYS,” taking place on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021. This year’s benefit will be a virtual broadcast taking place the week following Thanksgiving from 7 - 9 p.m.

The Office of Nightlife (ONL) at the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) and the Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health (MOCMH), in partnership with Backline Care, announce the launch of Elevate: Nightlife Mental Health Initiative.
