Brothers Keeper
Vail, Colorado-based rock band Brothers Keeper enlists John Popper of Blues Traveler to guest on harmonica in “He Left You.” The track is inspired by straight-up 70s rock n roll in a similar vein as The Faces in its gritty yet precise, attitude-driven proclamation. Lyrically, the song speaks about an indictment on relationships by someone who is proverbially throwing rocks at a glass house.
Vail-based nonprofit organization, Mr. Anonymous Philanthropic Society (“MAPS”) has announced the launch of their record label. The Go MAPS Music label is proudly kicking off a steady stream of releases with the digital single “Name Song” by Kory Montgomery. The lead single off a new series of Montgomery’s work will be released on Friday, May 20, accompanied by a performance on Fox 21’s Loving Local broadcasting live from Colorado Springs, Colorado at 9:00 am MST.
There are plenty of instrumentally urbane bands touring that keep audiences captivated while still lacking true songwriting sophistication. It’s more than a challenge to play the weight of a show on strong original material. It’s an even larger feat to achieve that without being a mimic. Sometimes surroundings inspire robust and natural creativity. And its no coincidence that the lovely mountain state of Colorado is home and foundation for many thriving live music acts.
