On Tuesday, June 13, Dead and Company made their fifth and final stop in Cincinnati for one final night with the Queen City Deadheads. In an effort to leave a memorable impression on the sold-out crowd at Riverbend Music Center, the band delivered an unbelievable performance that is sure to echo in the memories of the audience for years to come.

Peter Gabriel raised his hands over the keys of his electric piano and plonked them down, obviously missing the mark. The mistake was, umm, unmistakable.

“That’s what is technically known in the business as a ‘f***-up’,” the enigmatic art-rock singer wisecracked, after fumbling the beginning of the darkly brilliant song, “Family Snapshot”, at a North American gig in late 1982.

June 9th, 2023, Circles Around The Sun headed to the Rockies to kick off their triple header Colorado tour at the one and only Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver. CATS name shined as bright as a disco ball across the giant marquee sign. This special show not only included two incredible sets, but an additional late-night set that was out of this galaxy.

This past week, central Colorado continued its reign as the live musical mecca that locals and pilgrims have come to know as a true constant. With so many multi-night performances within a 150-mile drive of the Mile High City, it was difficult to decide what to do.

Connecticut's Eggy began their summer 2023 tour at the Homestead Bar and Kitchen in Morristown, NJ, last Wednesday, June 7, 2023, with smoke literally surrounding the building from the Canadian Wild Fires that unleashed their fury last week. The band took the stage despite the perils and rewarded those fans who braved the almost apocalyptic weather to be at the show for a delicious, smoking hot, midweek two-set show.

Dead and Company made their final run at Wrigley Field absolutely memorable for all who were in attendance. Since they began their farewell run at JazzFest, expectations have been through the roof at each and every stop so far. Wrigley was no different. They have been putting on epic shows at the Friendly Confines for years. And this year’s run was no different.

Grace Potter is no stranger to playing gigs in Colorado. This week she has two shows at Washington’s in Fort Collins on June 8th and 9th, then she will rock the rocks with Big Head Todd & the Monsters at Red Rocks on June 10th. She will be back in the mountains of Colorado for the Blues From The Top Festival in Winter Park on June 24th and then we will see her again on September 1st when she plays Jazz Aspen Snowmass Festival in Snowmass, Colorado.

When we reflect on the magic of the live music experience, what comes to mind, or to the ear as it were, are the images of those grandiose and infamous stages, like Red Rocks or Madison Square Garden, filled with a sea of people, in awe of face-melting shred fests and transcendental sonic exercises. For Colorado, these dynamics have become the expectation, and for good reason.

However, if there's one figure in pop music who warrants this epithet, it's undeniably Ringo Starr. The ex-Beatle rolled out the most recent line-up of his All-Starr band at the stunning Terrace Theater, Long Beach Performing Arts Center in Long Beach, California to inaugurate his 2023 tour.

Michael Franti & Spearhead rocked the Rocky Mountains on the current and diverse Big Big Love Tour 2023. The band played at Red Rocks on June 2nd, the Boulder Theater on June 3rd, and the Fox Theatre also in Boulder on June 4th. Each show has brought different dynamics from the band musically and personally.
